Workshops
The first full field visit took place in October 2008. A team of nine geography and science teachers spent a concentrated six days in the Badia working alongside their Jordanian counterparts. The programme fell into two phases:
1: Badia Project:
6 days in the field based at the Safawi Field Centre. This part of the visit is sponsored by the Badia Research & Development Centre and the British Council together with a small financial input from the participants.
2: Visits:
4 days visiting the World Heritage Site at Petra, the dramatic desert landscape of Wadi Rum where we stayed in Bedouin tents and the Red Sea city of Aqaba where some snorkelled on the coral reef. This part of the visit was financed by the participants.
The classroom and field study units have been written and edited and samples appear on this web site. If you wish to purchase the whole publication (Classroom & Fieldwork Units) this can be provided on CD at £10/copy (UK) or £12/copy overseas. Email us for details.
